He owned and operated an educational technology corporation for over 15 years that was recently sold by Sunbelt. Prior to that Mr. Scarbrough held various sales and business management positions with a multi-national oil, gas, and chemical company for over 10 years. He obtained an MBA from the University of Alabama with a focus on strategic planning, financial analysis, marketing, and project management. He is also an accredited business intermediary with expertise in business valuations. Mr. Scarbrough’s leadership roles extend to higher education and the business community as well. He is a member of Rotary International and has been awarded the “Service Above Self” award by his local club. The University of Alabama selected him to be on their Executive MBA Advisory Board, and he was recently nominated and chosen to be on the University’s Business School Board of Visitors. Andre Martineau joined Sunbelt Business Brokers in February of 2017, and is a Certified Main Street Business Broker. As a previous small business/franchise owner he has experience and knowledge that will help business buyers and sellers achieve their goals. In 1973 Andre was hired by a major integrated oil company as third officer aboard oil tankers and retired as Captain in 2005. In 1976, Andre was asked to work in Houston Headquarters as a cargo allocator and helped design a segregated ballast system. In addition, retrofit the company’s vessels for the Alaskan crude oil trade. As second officer/navigator he sailed from Norfolk Virginia through the Straits of Magellan to Valdez Alaska, and was aboard the second ship to load at the Valdez, Alaska Terminal. He was promoted to first officer/chief mate in 1978 and to Captain in 1981. In 1984, he spent several years as Port Captain in San Francisco, California. From 1987 to 2005 he was captain of various size tankers including Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC).
